Charities are best known as organisations created for the benefit of the community. Like businesses, Charities can trade for profit but must use the profit gained for the purpose of the Charity and not for individual needs.

There are different types of charities some which offer advice, give to the poor, help the ill, help other charities, provide education, provide grants and many more. To operate successfully charities need funds which they receive in various ways, such as; from the government or from the public in the form of cash, items or volunteer work also known as unpaid helper.

There are many definitions for charity including; a foundation created/setup to promote the public good and not for assistance to any particular individuals.
